Notodelphys ovifera Lichtenstein and Weinland, 1854, Monatsber. Preuss. Akad. Wiss. Berlin, 1854: 373. Holotype: ZMB by original designation; given as ZMB 3073 by Duellman, 1977, Das Tierreich, 95: 18. Type locality: "Venezuela"; restricted to "Puerto Cabello, Carabobo, Venezuela" by Duellman, 1977, Das Tierreich, 95: 18, who subsequently (Duellman, 2015, Marsupial Frogs: 209) considered this locality as the likely shipping point, not within the range. Also named as new by Weinland, 1854, Arch. Anat. Physiol. Wiss. Med., 1854: 473.

Notodelphis dorsigera Schlegel, 1858, Handl. Dierkd., 2: 59. Holotype: Not stated, but presumably in RMNH. Type locality: "Venezuela". Synonymy by Nieden, 1923, Das Tierreich, 46: 223.

Distribution

Cloud forests of the Cordillera de la Costa and Sierra de Aroa, northern Venezuela (states of Aragua, Cojedes, Miranda, Distrito Federal, Carabobo, and Yaracuy), 890–2060 m elevation; possibly extending into Península de Paria.
