Bokermannohyla itapoty Lugli and Haddad, 2006, J. Herpetol., 40: 8. Holotype: CFBH 05643, by original desgination. Type locality: "on a flat rocky surface of Lençóis river (12° 33′ 13″ S, 41° 24′ 48″ W) in Serra do Sincorá, Município de Lençóis, Bahia, Brazi".

Distribution

Known from the type localtiy in the Chapada Diamantina, Municipality of Lencois, and from the Municipalities of Andaraí, Mucugê, and Palmeiras, in Bahia, northeastern Brazil.

Comment

Most closely related to Bokermannohyla alverangai, according to the original publication, where adult and larval external morphology and the advertisement call were described. In the Bokermannohyla oxente group, the sister of Bokermannohyla juiju according to Faivovich, Lourenço, Pinheiro, Lyra, Baêta, Magalhães, Grant, Pezzuti, Leite, Araujo-Vieira, Brandão, Carvalho, Marinho, Orrico, Sabbag, Berneck, Pereyra, Giaretta, Toledo, Garcia, Pombal, Wheeler, Rodrigues, Napoli, and Haddad, 2025, Cladistics, 41: 323–357, who reported on phylogenetics, biogeography, and evolution of reproductive biology. Pupin, Brusquetti, Leite, and Haddad, 2025, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 205(1zlaf108): 1–14, reported on the molecular phylogenetics and biogeography of the Bokermannohyla pseudopseudis clade, including a dot map of this species' distribution.
