Distribution
Known only from a few localities in the northern sector of the Mantiqueira Mountain Range, with occurrences in the Brazilian states of Espírito Santo (municipalities of Castelo, Domingos Martins, and Vargem Alta) and Minas Gerais (municipalities of Carangola and Araponga).

Comment
A member of the Aplastodiscus albosignatus group, previously confused with Aplastodiscus leucopygius, according to the original publication, where phylogenetic placement, comparative morphology, advertisement call, and natural history were detailed.
