Comment
Discussed by Cei, 1980, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Monogr., 2: 450-452. Caramaschi, 1983, Resumos. X Congr. Brasil. Zool.: 306-307, suggested Aplastodiscus to be a synonym of Hyla. Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 75, 78, placed Aplastodicus into Cophomantini and transferred the former Hyla albofrenata group into Aplastodiscus and recognized three species groups, the Aplastodiscus albofrenatus group, Aplastodiscus albosignatus group, and Aplastodiscus perviridis group. Lutz, 1973, Brazil. Spec. Hyla, discussed the Brazilian species that were in Hyla at the time. Cruz and Peixoto, 1987 "1985", Arq. Univ. Fed. Rural Rio de Janeiro, 8: 103-105, restricted the Hyla albomarginata group to Hyla albomarginata and Hyla rufitela and recognized the Hyla albosignata group and Hyla albofrenata groups. Berneck, Haddad, Lyra, Cruz, and Faivovich, 2016, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 97: 213–223, reported on the molecular andmorphological phylogenetics of the group, redelimited the species groups and noted six unnamed species.
