Distribution

Atlantic slopes of Guatemala and Honduras.

Comment

Faivovich, Pereyra, Luna, Hertz, Blotto, Vásquez-Almazán, McCranie, Sánchez, Baêta, Araujo-Vieira, Köhler, Kubicki, Campbell, Frost, Wheeler, and Haddad, 2018, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 13: 1–32, partitioned this genus out of Ptychohyla. Townsend, Herrera-B., Hofmann, Luque-Montes, Ross, Dudek, Krygeris, Duchamp, and Wilson, 2020, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 70: 731–756, provided a molecular tree of the species. Portik, Streicher, and Wiens, 2023, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 188 (107907): 47, 67, recovered Atlantihyla within Ptychohyla in their molecular tree, but took no taxonomic action.
