Comment
Márquez, De la Riva, and Bosch, 1993, Biotropica, 25: 426–443, described the advertisement call. Removed from the synonymy of Hyla balzani by Köhler, 2000, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 48: 99 (who discussed the taxonomic problems with assignment of names), where it had been placed by Duellman, De la Riva, and Wild, 1997, Sci. Pap. Nat. Hist. Mus. Univ. Kansas, 3: 1–41. See also comments by Köhler, John, and Böhme, 2006, Salamandra, 42: 21–27. Presumably in the Hyla pulchella group by implication. See comment under Hyla balzani. In the Hypsiboas pulchellus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 87–88. Köhler, Koscinski, Padial, Chaparro, Handford, Lougheed, and De la Riva, 2010, Zool. Scripta, 39: 572–590, commented on the systematics and problematic nomenclature of this species.
