In the Hyla raddiana (= Hyla pulchella) group, according to the original publication. In the Hyla pulchella group according to Duellman, De la Riva, and Wild, 1997, Sci. Pap. Nat. Hist. Mus. Univ. Kansas, 3: 17. Suggested to likely be in the Hyla pulchella group by Faivovich, Garcia, Ananias, Lanari, Basso, and Wheeler, 2004, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 32: 938-950. In the Hypsiboas pulchellus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 87-88.
