Sci., Ser. 4, 33: 596. Type locality: "Desierto de los Leones, Bergwald in 3000 m Höhe, in der Nähe von Mexiko". Neotype from same locality as holotype. Distribution

High elevations in pine-fir forest in the Sierra Madre Oriental and the Cordillera Volcanica along the southern edge of the Mexican Plateau (Michoacan, Morelos, Mexico, D.F., Tlaxcala, Puebla, Veracruz, and Hidalgo).
