Type locality: "Colombia, Santander: límites de los municipios de Tona y Piedecuesta, vertiente occidental de la Cordillera Oriental, km 37 Bucaramanga a Pamplona, 7° 6′ latitud Norte, 73° 0′ W. Greenwich, 2700 m alt."
