Hyla crucialis Harlan, 1825, Am. J. Sci. Arts, 10: 64. Holotype: Not stated, but ANSP 2180 according to Crombie, 1973, Bull. Zool. Nomencl., 30: 4-6. Type locality: "Jamaica". Refusal to suppress, and placed on the Offical List of Specific Names in Zoology by Opinion 1972, Anonymous, 1977, Bull. Zool. Nomencl., 33: 170-171.
Trachycephalus lichenatus Gosse, 1851, A Naturalist’s Sojourn in Jamaica: 362. Holotype: not stated, but possibly in the BMNH. Type locality: "Summit of Bluefields Mountain, Jamaica". Synonymy by Trueb and Tyler, 1974, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 24: 41 (who considered Hyla crucialis a nomen oblitum); see Crombie, 1973, Bull. Zool. Nomencl., 30: 4-6.
