Comment

Placed in the synonymy of Pseudis paradoxa by Gallardo, 1961, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 125: 117, but revalidated by Caramaschi and Cruz, 1998, Rev. Brasil. Zool., 15: 929-944, who provided an account. De la Riva, 1999, Brit. J. Herpetol., 68: 14-19, discussed this species as a race of Pseudis paradoxa, but did not address the taxonomic issue. Vaz-Silva, Di-Bernardo, Guimarães, and Bastos, 2007, Salamandra, 43: 35–42, reeported on vocalization. Garda, Santana, and São Pedro, 2010, Zootaxa, 2666: 1-28, reported on morphology, morphometrics, and range of the species, including a dot map. Neves, Yves, Pereira Silva, Alves, Vasques, Coelho, and Silva, 2019, Herpetozoa, Wien, 32: 113–123, provided habitat information and a record for western Minas Gerais, Brazil. Vaz-Silva, Maciel, Nomura, Morais, Guerra Batista, Santos, Andrade, Oliveira, Brandão, and Bastos, 2020, Guia Ident. Anf. Goiás e Dist. Fed. Brasil Central: 86–87, provided an account.
