Comment
Previous records from the Atlantic slopes of Oaxaca, Mexico, were subsequently recognized as Ptychohyla zophodes. See by Duellman, 1970, Monogr. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas: 541–544 account (in the sense of including Ptychohyla zophodes), and by Duellman, 2001, Hylid Frogs Middle Am., Ed. 2: 1021–1022. Urbina-Cardona and Loyola, 2008, Tropical Conserv. Sci., 1: 417–445, modeled the distribution. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 277.
