Distribution

In Mexico in the southern Sierra Madre Occidental from Durango and southern Sinaloa, along the southern edge of the Mexican Plateau from Michoacán to Morelos, and the Sierra de Coalcomán in southern Michoacán. Occurring at 1280–2550 m most commonly in pine-oak forests, but also pine and pine-fir forests.
