Scinax caprarius Acosta-Galvis, 2018, Biota Colomb., 19 (Supl. 1): 137. Holotype: IAvHAm-11363, by original designation. Type locality: "Carretera entre La Vega y Villeta, a 4 km al occidente del casco urbano de la Vega, Centro Ecológico y de Vacaciones San Felipe (05°01’44,6”N y 74°22’9,7”O, 935 m s.n.m.), municipio La Vega, departamento de Cundinamarca, flanco occidental de la cordillera Oriental de Colombia". Distribution
Sub-Andean forests in the middle part of the valley of the Río Magdalena, covering the departments of Antioquia, Caldas and Cundinamarca, at elevations of 900–1300 m, in areas associated with high humidity gradients in the Magdalena River Valley between 2800–5000 mm annual rainfall.

Comment
In the Scinax ruber group, according to the original publication, where the adult and larval morphology, call, and general natural history was detailed. Ovalle-Pacheco, Camacho-Rozo, and Arroyo, 2019, Check List, 15: 393–394, reported the species from Boyacá, Colombia, and commented on the range in Colombia. In the Scinax elaeochroa group of Araujo-Vieira, Lourenço, Lacerda, Lyra, Blotto, Ron, Baldo, Pereyra, Suárez-Mayorga, Baêta, Ferreira, Barrio-Amorós, Borteiro, Brandão, Brasileiro, Donnelly, Dubeux, Köhler, Kolenc, Leite, Maciel, Nunes, Orrico, Peloso, Pezzuti, Reichle, Rojas-Runjaic, Silva, Sturaro, Langone, Garcia, Rodrigues, Frost, Wheeler, Grant, Pombal, Haddad, and Faivovich, 2023, S.
