Scinax oreites Duellman and Wiens, 1993, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 153: 25. Holotype: KU 181776, by original designation. Type locality: "8 km NNE Balzapata (05° 46′ S, 77° 48′ W; 1850 m), Provincia Bonagará, Departamento Amazonas, Peru".

Common Names

Balzapata Snouted Treefrog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 64).

Distribution

Upper montane rainforest (cloudforest) at elevation of 2000-2400 m on the front ranges of the Andes in northern and central Peru (departments of Amazonas, Pasco, and San Martín), descending to 1600 m in lower montane rainforest on the eastern slopes of the Andes.
