Lacerda and Moura, 2013, Salamandra, 49: 105–108, discussed the Bahia record of Lacerda, Santana, Silva, and Feio, 2010, Check List, 6: 242–243, and reidentified it as Sphaenorhynchus palustris. 242–243. Bolovon, Zornosa-Torres, Augusto-Alves, Almeida, Gasparini, and Toledo, 2020, Salamandra, 56: 401–404, described the advertisement call.
