Sphaenorhynchus palustris Bokermann, 1966, Rev. Brasil. Biol., 26: 16. Holotype: WCAB 19235, by original designation; now MZUSP. Type locality: "Sooretama, Linhares, Espírito Santo, Brasil".

Common Names

Linhares Lime Treefrog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 65).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality in the state of Espírito Santo, and  and another locality (Fazenda Santa Clara, municipality of Mucuri) in the state of Bahia, in eastern Brazil.

Comment

Simiar to Sphaenorhynchus lacteus according to the original publication. Nunes, Fusinatto, and Cruz, 2007, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 2: 123–128, reported on tadpole morphology and advertisement call. Lacerda and Moura, 2013, Salamandra, 49: 105-108, reported on the vocal repertoire and discussed the record from Bahia, Brazil.
