Trachycephalus atlas Bokermann, 1966, Neotropica, 12: 120. Holotype: WCAB 33669, by original designation; now MZUSP. Type locality: "Fazenda Santo Onofre, 10 km a; este de Maracás, Bahía, Brasil".
Common Names
Bokermann's Casque-headed Treefrog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 65).
Distribution
Northeastern Brazil in the states of Bahia, Pernambuco, Paraíba, and Ceará.

Roberto, Ribeiro, Bezerra, and Carneiro, 2011, Check List, 7: 326–327, provided a record for Ceará, Brazil, and discussed and mapped the range. Vieira, Santana, Nóbrega, and Montenegro, 2011, Herpetol. Rev., 42: 387, provided a record for Paraíba (Municipality of São João do Cariri) in Brazil and discussed the range. Santos-Silva, Ferrari, and Juncá, 2012, Zootaxa, 3424: 66–68, reported on the advertisement call. Forti, Foratto, Márquez, Pereira, and Toledo, 2018, PeerJ, 6(e4813): 1–19, characterized the advertisement call. Barreto, Ramos, Mercês, Napoli, Garda, and Juncá, 2015, Zootaxa, 3980: 597–600, reported on the oral cavity and external larval morphology.
