Atlantic forests of eastern Brazil, from Alagoas to Rio Grande do Sul, inland to include eastern and central Minas Gerais, up to 800 m elevation.

Garcia Marsà, Agnolin, and D'Angelo, 2020, Check List, 16: 219–222, reported the species from Argentina and discussed its range; this extension based on a specimen of Kaloula pulchra (Microhylidae), according to Faivovich and Elias-Costa, 2020, Rev. Mus. Argent. Cienc. Nat. Bernardino Rivadavia, Cienc. Zool., 22: 1–6. Dubeux, Silva, Nascimento, Gonçalves, and Mott, 2019, Rev.
