Hyla pulchrilineata Cope, 1870 "1869", Proc. Am. Philos. Soc., 11: 163. Holotype: ANSP 14495, according to Malnate, 1971, Proc. Acad. Nat. Sci. Philadelphia, 123: 352. Type locality: "Island of Santo Domingo, from the eastern part of that island", Hispaniola, West Indies.

Hispaniola, sea level to about 1100 m elevation in disjunct populations.
