Chrysobatrachus cupreonitens Laurent, 1951, Rev. Zool. Bot. Afr., 44: 376. Holotype: MRAC unnumbered, according to the original publication; given as MRAC 109970 by Laurent, 1972, Bull. Seanc., Bruxelles, 1971–72: 268. Type locality: "Riv. Kitadjabukwe, 2.800-2.850 m., bassin de l'Ulindi, Terr. d'Uvira, Kivu", Itombwe highlands, eastern Dem. Rep. Congo.
