Distribution
Known from localities in Congo lowland forest, all localities on the left bank side of the Congo River, west-central and central Dem. Rep. Congo.

A very brief account (as Hyperolius robustus) was provided by Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 154, and Schiøtz, 2006, Alytes, 24: 57, discussed the species. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 192–193, provided a brief account (as Hyperolius robustus), photograph, and range map. Nečas, Badjedjea, Vopálenský, and Gvoždík, 2021, Sci. Rep. (Nature, London), 11 (8338): 1–15, provided a dot map and specific localities. Badjedjea, Masudi, Akaibe, and Gvoždík, 2022, Amph. Rept. Conserv., 16 (1: e301): 51–52, commented on a population from the Kokolopori Bonobo Nature Reserve, Tshuapa Province, Dem. Rep. Congo.
