Comment

Tillack, de Ruiter, and Rödel, 2021, Zoosyst. Evol., Berlin, 97: 414–415, discussed the correct citation for the description, the collector and provenance of the types, and suggested that Hyperolius acuticephlus could be conspecific with Hyperolius igbettensis or Hyperolius adspersus. See also Ahl, 1931, Das Tierreich, 55: 419, fig. 291, which was considered by Laurent, 1985, in Frost (ed.), Amph. Species World: 206, to be the original description of the name.
