Distribution
Highlands of the Itombwe and Kabobo Plateaus, 2800 to 2850 m elevation, on the western branch of the Albertine Rift in the Dem. Rep. Congo.
Comment
See comment under Hyperolius castaneus with which the literature of this species is closely entwined. Greenbaum, Sinsch, Lehr, Valdez, and Chifundera, 2013, Zootaxa, 3731: 73–494, reported on the systematics and geographic variation and rejected subspecies. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 204–205, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
