Comment
A nomen dubium according to Perret, 1976, Arq. Mus. Bocage, Ser. 2, 6: 26. Tentatively considered a synonym of Hyperolius cinnamomeoventris by Laurent, 1943, Ann. Mus. R. Congo Belge, Tervuren, Zool., 4: 67; Laurent, 1951, Ann. Soc. R. Zool. Belg., 82: 23-50, although Laurent seems to have not noticed that Hyperolius fuscigula is an older name (1866) than is Hylambates cynnamomeus (1893) (DRF). Not mentioned by Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.. Marques, Ceríaco, Blackburn, and Bauer, 2018, Proc. California Acad. Sci., Ser. 4, 65 (Suppl. II): 102–103, provided a map for Angola and a brief account, noting that due to the loss of the only specimen the status of the species is questionable. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 396, regarded this nominal taxon as too insufficiently known to treat adequately in their fieldguide.
