Biogeograph., 27: 1231–1243 (who provided a new concept and range), and Wieczorek, Drewes, and Channing, 2001, Amphibia-Reptilia, 22: 159, where it had been placed by Laurent, 1961, Rev. Zool. Bot. Afr., 64: 84. Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 162–163, provided an account and who regarded the range as "from southern and central Kenya, central Tanzania including the Serengeti, to southwestern Uganda." Köhler, Scheelke, Schick, Veith, and Lötters, 2005, Afr. Zool., 40: 127-142, described the advertisement call. Malonza, Lötters, and Measey, 2010, J. E. Afr. Nat. Hist., 99: 56, commented on range, habitat, and conservation status in the Taita Hills of Kenya. Measey, Malonza, and Muchai, 2009, Amph. Taita Hills: 50–52, provided a brief account and photo for the Taita Hills, Kenya. Anz., 280: 65–77, reported on the evolution of larval and adult morphospace in the Central African Albertine Rift, including this species which they considered to be in the Hyperolius viridiflavus group. Biol., 68: 859–875, implied in supplemental figure FigS1 that Hyperolius glandicolor is part of Hyperolius viridiflavus, but the evidentiary basis for this is unclear. Channing, 2022, Zootaxa, 5134: 301–354, discussed the systematics, reidentified a number of GenBank sequences, restricted the range substantially by excluding a number of populations, provided a range map (mislabeled as Hyperolius mariae in Fig. 8b), molecular tree, and a summary of the color patterns for all of the named taxa in the synonymy, and characterized the advertisement call.
