Holotype: SAIAB 118979, by original designation. Type locality: "Himo Road, Arusha, Tanzania (3° 21′29.6″ S; 36°50'15.3" E)"

Distribution

Western and central Kenya (2 disjunct populations) and southern and northern Tanzania; isolated record from the Harenna Forest (6.5949°N, 39.7543°E, elevation 1800 m), Ethiopia, on the east side of the Rift Valley.

In the Hyperolius nasutus species group according to the original publication. Spawls, Wasonga, and Drewes, 2019, Amph. Notes, 16: 99–101, provided the record from the eastern Ethiopian Highlands, based on a mtDNA 16s assay for confirmation.
