Hyperolius xenorhinus Laurent, 1972, Explor. Parc Natl. Virunga, Ser. 2, 22: 73. Holotype: MRAC. Type locality: "mont Teye, secteur Kikura, alt. 1,800 m, contreforts septrionaux du Ruwenzori", Virunga National Park, Kivu, Dem. Rep. Congo.

Common Names

Teye Reed Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 68).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Mount Teye, Virunga National Park, Kivu, Dem. Rep. Congo), 1800 m elevation.

Comment

Possibly an aberrant specimen of Hyperolius alticola [= Hyperolius discodactylus] according to the original publication and Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 159, who provided a very brief account.
