Physalaemus orophilus Cassini, Cruz, and Caramaschi, 2010, Zootaxa, 2491: 25. Holotype: MNRJ 55097, by original designation. Type locality: " Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural da Serra do Caraça (20°05′56″S, 43°29′15″W; elevation 1300 m), municipalityof Catas Altas, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil ".

Comment

Confused with Physalaemus olfersi prior to its naming according to the original publication. Pezzuti, Leite, Silva, Lourenço, and Baêta, 2019, Zootaxa, 4629: 141–145, reported on larval morphology. Hepp and Pombal, 2020, Zootaxa, 4725: 1–106, discussed this species as part of a genus-wide discussion of bioacoustical traits among the species. Pezzuti, Leite, Rossa-Feres, and Garcia, 2021, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 22 (Special Issue): 1–109, described and discussed larval morphology and natural history.
