See Kwet, 2007, Mitt. Mus. Naturkd. Berlin, Zool., 83 (Supplement): 56-68, for discussion of acoustic distinctiveness of this species from other members of the Leptodactylus marmoratus group. Conte, Nomura, Machado, Kwet, Lingnau, and Rossa-Feres, 2010, Biota Neotrop., São Paulo, 10: 201–224, provided a new record from Paraná, Brazil, and discussed natural history and the advertisement call. Carvalho, Cassini, Taucce, and Haddad, 2019, J. Herpetol., 53: 131–143, provided substantial information on this species as part of their naming of its nearest relative, Adenomera kweti.
