Removed from the synonym of Leptodactylus marmoratus by Kwet, 2007, Mitt. Mus. Naturkd. Berlin, Zool., 83 (Supplement): 56-68, where it had been placed by Heyer, 1973, Contrib. Sci. Nat. Hist. Mus. Los Angeles Co., 251: 40. See comment under Leptodactylus marmoratus. Conte, Nomura, Machado, Kwet, Lingnau, and Rossa-Feres, 2010, Biota Neotrop., São Paulo, 10: 201–224, provided a new record from Paraná, Brazil, provided a dot map, discussed natural history and the advertisement call.
