Boophis (Boophis) kirki Vences, Köhler, Hutter, Preick, Petzold, Rakotoarison, Ratsoavina, Glaw, and Scherz, 2024, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 74: 660. Holotype: ZSM 699/2003, by original designation. Type locality: "Kidonavo bridge, near Vohiparara, Ranomafana National Park (21.2167°S, 47.3667°E), ca. 1000 m a.s.l., Southern Central East of Madagascar." None noted. 

Distribution

Known from the type locality (Vohiparara) and many other sites in Ranomafana National Park (Ambatolahy, Ambatovory, Fompohonina, Imaloka, Maharira, Mariavaratra, Ranomena, Sahateza, Samahalaotra, Valohoaka, Vatoharanana, Vohimanara), (2) from Antoetra (Farihimazava), and (3) from Vohidrazana in the Andasibe region. The elevational range spans from mid elevations (e.g., 915 m at Ambatolahy) to relatively high elevations (1272 m at Maharira, up to 1420 m a.s.l. Antoetra).

Comment

In the Boophis blommersae group, Boophis marojezensis complex, according to the original publication, where larval and adult comparative morphology, advertisement call, and molecular markers (mtDNA) were detailed. Previously confused with Boophis marojezensis.
