Boophis lichenoides Vallan, Glaw, Andreone, and Cadle, 1998, Amphibia-Reptilia, 19: 358. Holotype: NHM 1033822, by original designation. Type locality: "rainforest of An'Ala (An'Ala = the forest), approximately 6 km east of Andasibe, central eastern Madagascar, Moramanga Fivondronana, Toamasina Province, 48° 29′ E, 18° 55′ S, 890 m elevation".
