Substantially redelimited by Vences, Köhler, Hutter, Preick, Petzold, Rakotoarison, Ratsoavina, Glaw, and Scherz, 2024, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 74: 643–681, who provided an account summarizing comparative larval and adult morphology, natural history, range, and advertisement call; they also detailed the older literature, much of which applies to other members of Boophis marojezensis complex named in 2024.
