Boophis (Boophis) picardi Vences, Köhler, Hutter, Preick, Petzold, Rakotoarison, Ratsoavina, Glaw, and Scherz, 2024, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 74: 663. Holotype: ZSM 264/2006, by original designation. Type locality: "An’Ala (18.9193°S, 48.4880°E, 889 m a.s.l.), Northern Central East of Madagascar". None noted. 

Distribution

Known from area around the village of Andasibe, i.e., (1) the type locality, An’Ala, (2) Vohidrazana, (3) Vohimana, and it also has been recorded from (4) Betampona (Sahambendrana and Sahabefoza sites; elevational range spans from 349 to 880 m.

In the Boophis blommersae group, Boophis marojezensis complex, according to the original publication, where adult comparative morphology, advertisement call, and molecular markers (mtDNA) were detailed. Previously confused with Boophis marojezensis.
