Distribution

Low-elevation (7 to 517 m) areas of the Northern Central East of Madagascar; known from Anivorano Est, Antokotelo, Betampona, Ivoloina, Maroantsetra, Sahafina, Tampolo forest (Analanjirofo), Toamasina, and the vicinity of Vatomandry.

In the subgenus Brygoomantis, Mantidactylus fergusoni clade of Scherz, Crottini, Hutter, Hildenbrand, Andreone, Fulgence, Köhler, Ndriantsoa, Ohler, Preick, Rakotoarison, Rancilhac, Raselimanana, Riemann, Rödel, Rosa, Streicher, Vieites, Köhler, Hofreiter, Glaw, and Vences, 2022, Megataxa, 7: 113–311, who provided an account detailing (pp. 244–247) molecular and morphological diagnosis, natural history, advertisement call, adult morphology, and distribution.
