Distribution

Widespread in Northern Central East and Southern Central East Madagascar; known from Ambatobe, Ambohitsara, An’Ala, Befanjana, Betampona, several localities in Ranomafana (Ambolo, Ampitavanana, Beremby, Imaloka), and Sahavontsira. Elevation range: 14–1052 m.

In the subgenus Brygoomantis, Mantidactylus tricinctus clade of Scherz, Crottini, Hutter, Hildenbrand, Andreone, Fulgence, Köhler, Ndriantsoa, Ohler, Preick, Rakotoarison, Rancilhac, Raselimanana, Riemann, Rödel, Rosa, Streicher, Vieites, Köhler, Hofreiter, Glaw, and Vences, 2022, Megataxa, 7: 113–311, who provided an account detailing (pp. 255–258) molecular and morphological diagnosis, natural history, advertisement call, adult morphology, and distribution.
