Comment
In the subgenus Brygoomantis, Mantidactylus inaudax clade of Scherz, Crottini, Hutter, Hildenbrand, Andreone, Fulgence, Köhler, Ndriantsoa, Ohler, Preick, Rakotoarison, Rancilhac, Raselimanana, Riemann, Rödel, Rosa, Streicher, Vieites, Köhler, Hofreiter, Glaw, and Vences, 2022, Megataxa, 7: 113–311, who provided an account detailing (p. 282–170) diagnosis, natural history, advertisement call, adult and larval morphology, and distribution. These authors also removed Mantidactylus inaudax from the synonymy of Mantidactylus curtus, where it had been placed by Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 244. This synonymy had been questioned by Gavetti and Andreone, 1993, Cat. Mus. Reg. Sci. Nat., Torino, 10: 107.
