Mantidactylus pauliani Guibé, 1973, Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, Ser. 3, Zool., 171: 1171. Holotype: MNHNP 1972.1508, by original designation. Type locality: "Nosiarivo (massif de l'Ankaratra)", Madagascar.

Vicinity of the type locality (Nosiarivo) on the Ankaratra Massif at elevations of ca. 2200 m, central Madagascar.
