Mantidactylus (Chonomantis) temachikus Vences, Köhler, Mitze, Petzold, Preick, Raselimanana, Rakotoarison, Riemann, Rödel, Wastyn, Scherz, and Glaw, 2026, Spixiana, München, 48: 287. Holotype: ZSM 324/2005, by original designation. Type locality: "Ambohitantely Special Reserve, Jardin Botanique (geographical coordinates ca. 18.1725° S, 47.2767° E, ca. 1580 m a. s. l.), Madagascar".

Common Names

None noted. 

Distribution

Known from four highland localities in the northern Central East and southern Central East of Madagascar: (1) the type locality, Ambohitantely,(2) Anjozorobe, (3) an unspecified site in the Marolambo region, and (4) Ankazomivady. The elevational range is 1315–1580 m

Corresponds to Mantidactylus sp. 3 of Vieites, Wollenberg, Andreone, Köhler, Glaw, and Vences, 2009, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, 106: 8267–8272, not Mantidactylus sp. 3 of Carné and Vieites, 2024, Diversity & Distributions, 30 (12: e13912): 1–13 (which was misidentified Mantidactylus zipperi), and Mantidactylus sp. Ca3 of Perl, Nagy, Sonet, Glaw, Wollenberg, and Vences, 2014, Amphibia-Reptilia, 35: 197–206, according to the original publication, where comparative morphology, molecular markers, and advertisement call were detailed.
