Mantidactylus (Ochthomantis) zolitschka Glaw and Vences, 2004, Spixiana, München, 27: 87. Holotype: ZFMK 60110, by original designation. Type locality: "rainforest near An'Ala (18° 56′ S/48° 28′ E, 840 m above seal level), eastern Madagascar".

Madagascar, Ed. 3: 248-249, provided an account. Rabibisoa, Welt, and Raxworthy, 2023, Animals, 13(17: 2800): 1–67, provided a detailed account covering relevant literature, morphology, and molecular markers and provided a dot map for the species. Dias, Vera Candioti, Wassersug, Lukas, Targino, Glos, Wheeler, Hertwig, Crottini, and Haas, 2024, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 202 (2:  zlae127): 1–13, reported on larval buccopharyngeal anatomy.
