Spinomantis leonieae Vences, Scherz, Köhler, Ruthmann Jimenez, Andreone, Crottini, Hutter, Petzold, Raselimanana, and Glaw, 2026, Salamandra, 62: 195. Holotype: ZSM 212/2022, by original designation. Type locality: "Park Naturel Makira (at geographical coordinates 15.17806° S, 49.62444° E, 890 m above sea level), northern Madagascar". Distribution

Madagascar, with genetically confirmed records from: (1) the type locality, Makira Reserve, and (2) a site on the Masoala Peninsula (Sarahandrano, Ratsianarana). Elevational range spans from 110 m at Ratsianarana to ca. 900 m at Makira.

In the Spinomantis aglavei clade, according to the original publication, where comparative morphology and molecular markers (16S mtDNA), advertisement call, and natural history were detailed and a dot map of the distribution provided.
