Spinomantis nussbaumi Cramer, Rabibisoa, and Raxworthy, 2008, Am. Mus. Novit., 3618: 14. Holotype: AMNH R-167949, by original designation. Type locality: "Befosa River-Antetikalambazaha, Tsaratanana Massif, Bealanana Fivondronana, Mahajanga Province, 1650 m, 14° 10′ 27″ S, 48° 56′ 42″ E", Madagascar".

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (Befosa River-Antetikalambazaha, Tsaratanana Massif, Bealanana Fivondronana, Mahajanga Province, Madagascar, 1580–1650 m elevation).
