Distribution

Madagascar, with genetically confirmed records from: (1) the type locality, Marojejy; (2) the Makira Reserve, and (3) at Menamalona (15.39200° S, 50.04700° E) along the Ilampy Corridor on the Masoala Peninsula. The known elevational range spans from 510 m at Menamalona to 1326 m at “Simpona” campsite on the Marojejy Massif.

Comment

In the Spinomantis aglavei clade, according to the original publication, where comparative morphology and molecular markers (16S mtDNA), advertisement call, and natural history were detailed, and a dot map of genetically-confirmed records provided. Also according to the original publication this species was depicted as Spinomantis fimbriatus by Glaw and Vences, 2007, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 3: 207: Fig. 2b.
