Montane forest of Mt. Hengshan, found near streams at elevations ca. 250 m to ca. 1100 m elevation, Hunan Province, China.

Comment
Formerly confused with Boulenophrys hengshanensis (although apparently not closely related) according to the original publication, where comparative adult morphology, morphometrics, and molecular markers were detailed.
