Distribution

Rushing mountain streams in Bamianshan, Jingzhushan, Nanfengmian Nature Reserve and Dabali, within the range of Mount Jinggang, Jiangxi Province, and from adjacent Taoyuandong Nature Reserve, Hunan Province which are located in the middle of Luoxiao Mountains, running along the border between the Jiangxi and Hunan Provinces, China, 1100–1610 m elevation.

The original publication include details of vocalization, morphology, and molecular genetics. Lyu, Qi, Wang, Zhang, Zhao, Zeng, Wan, Yang, Mo, and Wang, 2023, Zool. Res., Kunming, 44: 433–434, provided an account and placed the species in their Boulenophrys boettgeri group.
