Distribution
Known only from the vicinity of the type locality in the Lianshan Bijiashan Nature Reserve in the Nanling Mountains northwestern Guangdong, China, 490–540 m elevation.

Comment
Comparative adult morphology and molecular markers (16S and COI) detailed in the original publication, where the phylogenetic position of this species was posited to be the sister taxon of Boulenophrys obesa.
