Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Guangdong Yangchun Ehuangzhang Provincial Nature Reserve, western Guangdong, China), inhabiting montane streams and the nearby forest floor and leaf litter at elevations between 900 and 1100 m.

Comment

Most closely related to Boulenophrys acuta and Boulenophrys gaolanensis, according to the original publication, where comparative morphology and molecular (mtDNA) markers were detailed.
