Distribution

Known only from Shimentai Nature Reserve, Guangdong, China, in evergreen secondary forest, near lowland streams and in nearby leaf litter at elevations between 300–400 m.

Ccomparative morphology and molecular markers were detailed in the original publication. A detailed account provided by Lyu, Qi, Wang, Zhang, Zhao, Zeng, Wan, Yang, Mo, and Wang, 2023, Zool. Res., Kunming, 44: 444–445, who assigned it to the Boulenophrys boettgeri group.
