Megophrys (Xenophrys) awuh Mahony, Kamei, Teeling, and Biju, 2020, J. Nat. Hist., London, 54: 142. Holotype: BNHS 6070, by original designation. Type locality: "Star Lake (25.464444, 94.703889, 2220 m asl.), Reguri village, Meluri circle, Phek district, Nagaland state, Northeast India".

English Names

Naga Hills Horned Frog (original publication). 


Known only from the vicinity of Kohima and Star Lake in southern and eastern Nagaland state, India, respectively, at elevations between 1650 and 2220 m; expected in continuous habitat in Manipur state, India, and Sagaing Region of western Myanmar.  


Placed in the original publication in their Megophrys (Xenophrys) megacephala species group.
